Further Update, June 2008
Rosie builds a tower out of bricks
We have recently returned from our 3rd trip to America to the Growing Minds facility. I was feeling exhausted from all the fundraising, running the program for 2 1/2 years and fighting the local education authority for money.
Rosie's progress had slowed down, so we were thrilled to find new ways to engage her and re-adjust the program. Rosie has been showing periods of time where she is motivated and engaged.
When she is like this, she can demonstrate understanding and ability way beyond our expectations. We are never going to stop trying to find a way to keep this window of opportunity open as often as possible.
She has been very interested is numbers and is showing some maths ability. She is trying to say the alphabet - it's all in the wrong order but we love her enthusiasm! As she gets more and more organised, her responses are quicker & more accurate. It's wonderful to see her confidence grow.
